Funding Statement
This work was supported by the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) grant funded by the Korea government (MSIT) (NRF-2020M3 E5D9080792; NRF-2022R1A2C2093009; No. 2022R1A2C4001313) and by the Government-wide R&D Fund for Infections Disease Research (GFID), funded by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Republic of Korea (grant number: 20015024).
Data are presented as means±standard deviations for age, education years, HDRS-17 scores, illness duration, and cognitive function test scores. p-values for the sex distribution were obtained using the chi-square test. p-values for comparisons of age, years of education, HDRS-17 scores, and cognitive function test scores were obtained using independent t-tests. MDD, major depressive disorder; HC, healthy control; HDRS-17 score, Hamilton Depression Rating Scale-17 score; NA, not applicable; TMT, trail making test; SSRI, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor; SNRI, serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor; NDRI, norepinephrine dopamine reuptake inhibitor; NaSSA, noradrenergic and specific serotonergic antidepressants; Etc, Et cetera; Combination of AD, combination of two or more types of antidepressants; AP, antipsychotics; Combination of AP, combination of two or more types of antipsychotics
Analysis of covarience was adjusted for age, sex, and years of education. Bonferroni correction was applied: p<0.05/72 (=0.000694). DTI, diffusion tensor imaging; MDD, major depressive disorder; HC, healthy control; WM, white matter; SD, standard deviation; AD, axial diffusivity; FMajor, forceps major; LH, left hemisphere; CST, corticospinal tract; SLFP, superior longitudinal fasciculus-parietal bundle; RH, right hemisphere; ATR, anterior thalamic radiation; ILF, inferior longitudinal fasciculus; SLFT, superior longitudinal fasciculus-temporal bundle; MD, mean diffusivity; RD, radial diffusivity
Pearson’s partial correlation coefficient was adjusted for age, sex, and years of education. Bonferroni correction was applied: p<0.05/72 (=0.000694). DTI, diffusion tensor imaging; MDD, major depressive disorder; WM, white matter; TMT, trail making test; AD, axial diffusivity; FMajor, forceps major; FA, fractional anisotropy; FMinor, forceps minor; RD, radial diffusivity
